Asia has emerged as the most dynamic region of economic and technological growth and will play an increasingly pivotal role in global politics. While Asia is integrating economically, it is beset with serious security challenges arising from both traditional and non-traditional sources. Sharing several common values, both India and Japan are now well-poised to play a significant role in contributing to the peace and security of Asia. Indo-Japanese ties have now become far more diversified to include a wide range of interests like regional peace and security, nuclear disarmament, maritime security, energy cooperation, environmental protection and counter terrorism.
