Background
Swarup is a Mathematics Graduate from Mumbai University. Further he has done Masters in Political Science from Pune University. Presently, he is pursuing another Masters in History.
He has represented Chanakya Mandal Parriwar, a Pune based Educational Organisation. Where he used to teach Indian Constitution, Communication Skills and Study Techniques to the students who are preparing for Competitive Exam.
He was the part of a team, designing a syllabus for, Anti Terrorist Citizen's Training Programme.
He has published a series of articles on The Challenges before Indian Democracy, India's Foreign Policy, Youth Policy for Maharashtra (In Marathi) for a monthly magazine.
Before joining ORF Mumbai, he was working with a local daily (in Marathi) Mumbai Tarun Bhaarat as Chief Sub Editor.
He is learning to play Santoor (a 100 string instrument) under Pt. Satish Vyas.
His Research interests include Promoting Indian Knowledge Traditions, Promoting Regional Languages, Education, Smooth functioning of Democracy.
Presently
He is working on the following two projects:
1. Sustainable Agriculture and Organic Farming in Maharashtra.
2. Maharashtra's 50 Thought Leaders.
