
Prof. K.S Kavikumar

Prof. Kavi Kumar has 15 years of experience in research,
teaching and industries. After obtaining Masters degree
in Engineering, he completed his Ph.D. on “Modeling and
Analysis of Climate Change Impacts on Indian
Agriculture” in 1998. Dr. Kavi Kumar has been associated
with international and national institutions including
the World Bank, International Institute for Applied
Systems Analysis, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact
Research, Tata Energy Research Institute, Institute of
Economic Growth etc. for various research assignments.
Since 1999, he has been working with Madras School of
Economics. His areas of interest include environmental
economics, energy economics, development economics and
economics of global climate change. Some of the recent
projects that he completed deal with economic analysis
of environmental impact assessment, designing incentive
mechanisms for promoting renewable energy sources and
assessing socio-economic impacts associated with future
climate change scenarios. Much of the research work he
has carried out in the past ten years deals with
valuation of non-marketed goods. Dr. Kavi Kumar has
published/presented several papers in international and
national journals/conferences/workshops.
