Dr. Joachim Spangenberg, born in
1955, is Biologist, ecologist and economist. From 1992
to 1999 he was in charge of the taskforce on
“Sustainable Societies” at the Wuppertal Institute and
worked as a scientific associate at the Social Science
Research Centre Berlin and the Institute for European
Environmental Policy (Bonn). Since 1999 he is the
Vice-President of the Sustainable Europe Research
Institute. His main interests are Integrated
Sustainability, Indicators and scenarios, Sustainability
Science, Socio-economic sustainability.
