Mr. Harro van Asselt, LL.M. (International Law), is researcher at the department of Environmental Policy Analysis at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since November 2002, and has been a research fellow with the Multiple Options, Solutions and Approaches: (Institutional) Interplay and Conflict (‘MOSAIC’) group of the international Global Governance Project (Glogov.org) since July 2005. His research focuses on interactions between international agreements on climate change, and possible strategies for dealing with such interactions. In addition, Harro has worked on several research projects on the flexibility mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, on post-2012 international climate policy options, and on trade measures in European and US climate policy. He has published over 10 articles in journals including Climate Policy, Energy Policy, Global Environmental Change, Global Environmental Politics, Stanford Environmental Law Journal, and Review of European Community and International Environmental Law. He is co-editor of a forthcoming book on European climate policy with Cambridge University Press, and has authored and co-authored more than 10 book chapters for various books. In addition, he is Managing Editor of the peer-reviewed journal International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics, and Associate Editor of the Carbon & Climate Law Review.
