Dr. Diana Reckien

Germany
Dr. Diana Reckien holds a PhD in Geography. She started
her studies in Greifswald with a focus on the geography
of tourism, continuing at the universities of Utrecht
and Dresden. For her PhD, she undertook studies in two
case study areas (Liverpool and Leipzig) assessing the
urban development, most notably the causes and
consequences of urban sprawl in these old-industrial
areas. Her research interests include climate change
impacts and vulnerabilities and climate change
adaptation with a particular focus on urban areas in
high-income and low-income regions. She is currently
project leader “Sustainable adaptation to and Mitigation
of Climate change with respect to Lifestyles and
Consumption Patterns”.
