This talk will provide a perspective on what steps India could take to foster development and provide a convergence of energy and climate security. It will examine projections in energy demand, resource availability, demographics, energy infrastructure deployment and environmental impacts. It will then highlight the need for incentives that promote energy efficiency and planned growth and discuss some non-traditional forms of carbon credits that would encourage sustainable and responsible development.
